Pokémon has never been shy about weird design choices. For every Pikachu or Charizard, there's a creature that makes you tilt your head and wonder what the designers were thinking. Here's our countdown of ten of the strangest-looking Pokémon in the franchise.
10. Vanilluxe
Two scoops of ice cream fused together with faces, orbiting a shared body of frost. It's less "creature" and more "dessert with an identity crisis" — and that's exactly why it earns a spot on this list.
9. Trubbish
A living trash bag. Not a monster made of trash — an actual bag of garbage with eyes and stubby arms. Its evolution, Garbodor, only ups the strangeness with mismatched limbs and a permanently confused expression.
8. Stunfisk
Stunfisk is basically a flat, smiling manhole cover that hides in mud to zap unsuspecting Pokémon. It has almost no visible body — just a face stretched across a puddle-shaped slab.
7. Alomomola
A pink, heart-shaped fish with a permanently blank stare and tiny fins that barely seem functional. It looks like a cartoon Valentine's Day card that grew gills.
6. Dugtrio
Three identical mole heads poking out of the ground, with no visible bodies at all. Where the necks go, nobody really wants to think about too hard.

A floating keyring covered in actual sentient keys, each with a distinct little face. It's a household object come to life, and it's unsettlingly cheerful about it.

Six eggs stacked in a cluster, each with a different expression, somehow functioning as a single Pokémon. It's part plant, part... egg carton with feelings.
3. Mr. Mime
A mime-themed humanoid with oddly human hands, a painted-on smile, and a habit of building invisible walls. Deeply charming to some, deeply unsettling to most.
2. Wobbuffet
A blue blob with a flat, expressionless face on the front and a second, more anxious-looking tail-face on the back that reacts to everything happening to the front half. Two personalities, one body.
1. Sableye
Purple, gem-eyed, and grinning permanently with a mouth full of jagged teeth, Sableye looks like it wandered out of a horror movie and into a kids' franchise. Its design leans so hard into "creepy" that it's become a fan favorite for exactly that reason.
